Walkthrough Fantasy Wars
Overall strategy
Well, this is a tactical game, all you need is a strategy to rush through the levels without loosing too much troops. I can
only try to give you a few good advices in this walkthrough and tell you about the places where you'll find artifacts and
additional orders.
Main strategy is to keep your shooting troops behind the infantry, so the shooters can counterattack and defend your own
infantry troops when the enemy is attacking them.
The amount of gold you'll get at the end of a level depends on the difficulty level, the here listed amount is reached on
the normal difficulty level.
Note: I have played this game in the german version. I don't know how some cities are named in the english
version, so I used the german names for this walkthrough without translating them into english! Also the mission titles may
not have the correct translations.
Human Campaign
1 - Wind of the Steppes
Objectives:
- go to Mecklenburg
- liberate fortress Keilerstein
In the Ruined Chapel near Mecklenburg you can find the artifact Burning Sword for your troops. In front of the
fortress Keilerstein is a river, try to bring your troops across this river before attacking the fortress.
Gold Victory: 150 Gold + 1 Militia
Silver Victory: 150 Gold + 1 Peasants
Bronze Victory: 150 Gold
2 - Against the Wind
Objectives:
- liberate Neunstein
- capture the Orc-fortress Ghoshzar
You have to banish the Orcs from the borderlands and take their fortress. There's a dead mage in a burned forest near
the fortress Ghoshzar and you can find the artifact Eye of the Eagle in his pockets.
Gold Victory: 200 Gold + 1 Halberdiers + Helm of Saint
Silver Victory: 200 Gold + Helm of Saint

3 - Rapid Rescue
Objectives:
- capture three forage carts from the rear of the Leranse army
- kill the General of the Leranse army
In this level Master Brennok joins your troops. You have to capture the three forage carts first to make sure that the
knights will retreat. Then try to kill the General as fast as possible, without him the rest of the knights is easy to
kill. The General is hiding in the north-west edge of the map with several knights. On this map is also an altar with
the Sphere of Cold.
Gold Victory: 200 Gold + 1 Horse Yeomen + Amulet of the Fanatic

4 - Back to Derenhalle
Objectives:
- capture the coastal city Meerheim
- conquer castle Talshorn
Father Dexter has to capture the city of Meerheim within four rounds. After that you have to conquer castle Talshorn.
You'll get two new troops at the begining of this level and Father Dexter joins your troops. In the Ruined Chapel you
can find the artifact Banner of Valor.

5 - Freiburg's Destiny
Objectives:
- liberate the most important cities and fortresses in Derenhalle
- liberate the fortress Seelberg
- liberate Freiburg
- liberate Middle-Derenhalle
- liberate the fortress Orttung
Main strategy (for a silver or bronze victory) should be to take the small cities first to prevent the enemy from
attacking your troops from behind. The enemy troops stationed in Freiburg are not leaving their positions, simply leave
a few troops there to attack them from time to time. When you've conquered the smaller cities (and collected the
artifacts) surround Freiburg and take it.
If you want to get the gold victory just try to surround Freiburg, but be careful, in this case the enemy is attacking
from several places around the city then! You can find the Sword of Wrath in the Old Church and the
Relics of Marcus in the Temple of Marcus' Blood.
When conquered Freiburg you'll get a new order, defend Freiburg for some rounds against the Orcs.

6 - Fields of Leranse
Objectives:
- go to castle Santen
- kill the Goblinhexer
You should kill the Goblinhexer as soon as possible, he is casting spells on your army every round. At least one of your
troops has to reach the castle Santen to finish this map. In the Troll's Cave you can find the artifact
Sphere of Cold and when you've killed the Goblin Hexer you'll find the Horn of Horror at the Ruins.

7 - General of Leranse
Objectives:
- march to Rantry
- find the knights and bring them out of the trap
You have four rounds to reach Rantry, then select your two strongest troops and let them protect Rantry while the other
troops conquer the rest of the map. The artifact Firkan's Map can be found at the Watermill.
Gold Victory: 300 Gold + 1 Elite Ranger + Shield of the Ancients

8 - Wings of Verson
Objectives:
- report the King's death to General Pfeil
- General Pfeil has to reach the city of Saint-Jean
- find the corpse of King Stefan
- kill the Hexer
- rescue the infantrists of Leranse
You start with 3 Eagles in this level, at least one of them has to reach General Pfeil to report about the King's death.
Choose the one with Segmented Movement and let him fly only at the border of the map. Use the others to fly
into the middle of the map to divert the enemy's attention from your special eagle. There are many Pteradons, so be
careful.

9 - Deserted City
Objectives:
- defend Verson during the evacuation of its inhabitants
- break through the siege of Sylent
- clear the street
- kill the Berserk chieftain
- kill the Goblinhexer
- destroy the siege machines
In this level you have 15 rounds to defend Verson and finish your orders. Defend Verson with your troops and let your
3 or 4 strongest troops finish all other orders. Try to kill the chieftain of the Berserks as soon as possible.
The Goblinhexer is hiding at the church north of Verson, the siege machines are in a city southwest and the chieftain is
in a city southeast of Verson. I recommend to use Rangers to kill them.
Gold Victory: 350 Gold + 1 Royal Archers + Cloak of Saint
Silver/Bronze Victory: not available
10 - Bloody Waves
Objectives:
- keep control over Sylent
- visit the place where the mages died
- protect the magetower
- kill Ash-Hoon
This is the last scenario in the Human campaign, all you have to do is protect Sylent. Ok, it's not
that easy...
Master Brennok has to reach the Magetower of Sylent as fast as possible, his spells are much stronger in the tower. Your
troops have to find the ghosts of the three mages, visit the three forts along the river. Ash-Hoon will attack you as
soon as you've found the last ghost.
At the Altar in the northwest edge of the map you can find the artifact Lightning Bow.
Gold Victory: Nothing else possible, this is the end of the Human campaign. You can now go on with the Orc campaign...
Orc Campaign
1 - Conquest of Goblins
Objectives:
- conquer the Goblin's town
Examine the Death Tree and conquer the town of the Goblins. At the Stone Circle you'll find the artifact
Mummy Eye.
Gold Victory: 250 Gold + 1 Goblin Robber
Silver Victory: 200 Gold + 1 Goblin Looters
Bronze Victory: 150 Gold
2 - Reconnaissance in Force
Objectives:
- conquer the town Vainen
- conquer the fortress Neunstein
This is also a very simple map, just conquer the town Vainen and the fortress Neunstein. There's no artifact hidden
in this map.
Gold Victory: 200 Gold + 1 Orc Stabbers + Sphere of Cold
Silver Victory: 200 Gold + 1 Orc Mobs
Bronze Victory: 200 Gold
3 - Joining the Majority
Objectives:
- kill the chieftain of the Berserks
- kill the chieftain of the Orc Riders
- kill the Troll chieftain
You'll get the hero Besargar in this level, he's the chieftain of the Berserks. Try to reach the dirigible in the
small valley at the lake, it can help you. The Troll Cave is better taken from the riverside, try to get the Trolls
into the water and kill them.
Don't forget to examine the ruin in the swamp.

4 - Fall of Irand
Objectives:
- conquer castle Irand
- conquer the Knight's camp
At the Witch Circle you can find the artifact Red Plate of Azurnash. There are two mountain passes, one left
and one right of Irand. You can send some of your troops over the pass and attack Irand from behind. Use some of your
strongest troops to kill the Knights in the camp.

5 - Fall of Freiburg
Objectives:
- conquer Freiburg
- find and kill King Victor
You have to reach the Temple of Marcus' Blood, when the first of your troops is near the temple the relic within will be
destroyed. You can find another artifact in the Old Church. When you've killed King Victor he drops the artifact
Ancient Crown.
Try to conquer the smaller cities before attacking Freiburg, else many human troops are coming to protect Freiburg.

6 - Land of Knights
Objectives:
- conquer the fortress Shatte
- conquer the fortress Trevy
- conquer the fortress Sent-Rono
- intercept the magic cargo
You can find the artifact Lance of Glory when you kill the Foot Knights in the additional quest
Intercept the magic cargo. They are marching from the northeast edge of the map to the courtmage of King Stefan.
Try to send one part of your army along the right side of the river and a stronger part along the left side. With this
tactic you should reach all three fortresses within the gold time.

7 - War in the Air
Objectives:
- conquer the fortress De'Vandor and send a signal from a tower to the Pteranodonriders
- conquer the city Arien
- visit the Cave in the Snakeswamp
You have to conquer the city De'Vandor and send the signal, then two new Pteranodonriders will join your troops. While
you're waiting for them, you have to protect the city. In the Cave in the Snakeswamp you can find the artifact
Staff of Meteors.

8 - Trap for the King
Objectives:
- kill King Stefan
- conquer the fortress Arledon
- kill the spies of the King
- catch him (King Stefan) at Nuoren
Two spies have a message for the King, they want to warn him and you have to catch them before they can reach the King.
Send your fastest troops behind them. At the Black Altar you can find the artifact Staff of Eternity. Catch
King Stefan while he's marching to Nuoren.
Gold Victory: 350 Gold + 1 Bad Mads + Big Banner of Ugraum

9 - The Fall of Verson
Objectives:
- conquer Verson
- conquer the Old Town
- conquer the Main Temple
- conquer the Royal Palace
This is nearly the same as in the Human campaign, but this time you have to conquer Verson with your Orcs. There are
many human troops hiding around the city. Try to kill all those troops first before conquering Verson.
Gold Victory: 400 Gold + 1 Mighty Riders + Elixir of Life
Silver Victory: 400 Gold + Elixir of Life
Bronze Victory: 400 Gold
10 - To the Last Sea
Objectives:
- break through the walls of Sylent
- kill the battle mages
- kill Ash-Hoon
This is the last scenario in the Orc campaign, all you have to do is conquer Sylent. You should kill the battle mages
as fast as possible, they are in the forts along the river. Ash-Hoon and Sho-Doon are betraying you, as soon as you've
reached Sylent they attack your troops from the northwest edge of the map. Kill them! When they catch Besargar
just send your fastest troop behind them, you only have to reach them without fighting.
Gold Victory: Nothing else possible, this is the end of the Orc campaign. You can now go on with the
Alliance campaign...
Alliance Campaign
1 - Secret Mission
Objectives:
- complete all orders of Glenderin
You have to complete several orders that Glenderin gives you during this level. First bring the staff into the Stone
Circle, then find the dwarves to get the Altarstone from them. The dwarven hero Zwergenfels (Dwarvenrock?)
joins your troops after you've rescued the dwarves. Then find the engineer that hides in the Forest.
In the Troll's Cave you can find the artifact Bow of Doom.

2 - Ofris
Objectives:
- find the key to Farrakh's sarcophagus
- get the blessing
- get mobile Forts
- kill the guards of the key
At the Stone Circle you can find the artifact Staff of Eternity. You have to send Dwarvenrock (?) to both
sanctuaries to get the blessing of the ancestors. Send him also to the town to get a mobile warmachine. Then you have
to kill the Larid mercenaries. After this kill the Trolls at Ofris and prepare for the fight with the guards.

3 - Unmasking
Objectives:
- give the key of the sarcophagus to Glenderin
- bring Teya into the Dragon's Nest
- summon a Dragon
This is a somehow difficult level. After giving Glenderin the key, he is sending Flamewarriors after you. They can only
die if they are destroyed in one round! And the worse problem is that they will always re-appear, no matter how many
you're killing. So you'll need a tricky tactic to lead Teya to the Dragon's Nest.
The good news: She has to stay there only three rounds.
The bad news: She will run away as soon as she's being attacked, and there will appear several Flamewarriors once she's
reached the Dragon's Nest.
Let Teya move directly over the river and give her two other troops, move to the Old Tree, then to the near Place of
Might. With the rest of your troops try to move a bit north to the northern Place of Might. Now try to attack the
orcish troops, but don't kill them! You'll need them all at the Dragon's Nest to help you fight against
the Flamewarriors.
While your troops are followed by the orcish troops to the Dragon's Nest (or near it), move Teya with the help of the
two troops onto the Nest. Then put troops all around her, so she can't run away from the point. Let the Orcs fight the
Flamewarriors and simply surround Teya without moving your troops away. You have to stand this at last three rounds.
Then you've got the Dragon as new creature and all is good... and don't loose your nerves in this level. ;-)

4 - Breakthrough
Objectives:
- break through and reach the Human army
Very simple level, just follow the street to Sylent. Make sure to not run into some Orcs... there are several bigger
armies, one is left from your startpoint and one in the forest and a bit left on the street above your startpoint.

Bronze Victory: 200 Gold
5 - Knights of the Sword
Objectives:
- get the Sword of Marcus
In this level you begin with three heroes: Derrick Pfeil, Master Brennok and Father Dexter. There is the artifact
Cloak of a Saint in the Church of Saint Sacrifice. When you've done the first steps you'll get some more
troops, try to kill the mage in the Witch Circle with your Rangers. Then move to Ticsus and get the Sword of Marcus.

6 - Ugraum's Revenge
Objectives:
- punish Ash-Hoon for his betrayal
- Sho-Doon must not die
- bring Sho-Doon to Sumgan
- kill Ash-Hoon
First conquer the nearest town to place the rest of your troops. Then try to walk to the right side of the map to reach
the city where Sho-Doon hides and kill his guards. Now clear the map, or at least conquer Verson. Once you've brought
Sho-Doon to the gate of Sumgan Ash-Hoon and his troops appear. You've got to kill now both Goblinhexers and the rest of
the orcish troops.

7 - Desperate Drive
Objectives:
- break through to Sumgan
First try to reach the near small church on the left side of the map, send a few weaker troops there. On the right
side (from your startpoint) are the most strongest enemy troops, so send the rest of your troops there.
From here march to Sumgan and let the weaker troops from the church move to Verson, you can easy conquer it, there are
only level 0-1 troops. Let your strongest troops kill the enemy in front of Sumgan then.

8 - The last Battle
Objectives:
- kill Farrakh
- destroy the Soul-Crystals
The good news: You'll get all troops that you've collected over the last campaigns, but only the Human, Elven and
Dwarven troops. Don't worry, that's enough to kill Farrakh.
The bad news: You can have 15 troops at a time, but there are only 10 startplaces for your troops. You begin behind
Sumgan and there are only two ways out. The next reachable City is Verson, full of enemy troops, the next reachable
city (after Verson) is on the right side of the map, but Farrakh stands in front of Verson. Also Farrakh gets two new
troops every round, a golem and Flame Knights...
Ok, let's go on with this. Place your heroes first, then your best troops. Move Teya, a Ranger and a flying troop to
the right side of your startpoint. Let Teya stay there while moving the Ranger and flying troop (I used the Dragon)
towards the city. Meanwhile move the rest of your troops to the left side and attack Verson.
When Farrakh moves to Verson, let Teya and her troops move fast to the city and conquer it, Farrakh will not follow you
(I played this three times, he has always done the same). Farrakh will move to Verson and while he's there, take three
other troops and go over the river on the left side. Attack the few troops in the very left edge of the map.
Then let a Ranger look a bit behind Verson (to the city behind the river) and attack Verson from both sides, you
should conquer it completely.
Meanwhile Farrakh has moved his troops to the first point where the Ghost of Dragon is and he is attacking Verson only
over the bridge, let your troops stay here and protect the city. Place some cannonfodder now and attack the Ghost of a
Dragon. Meanwhile move Teya and her troops to the next point, attack the Ghost of Glenderin. Then attack the last Ghost.
You should now have the chance to conquer the rest of the map very easily. When only Farrakh is left, attack him only
with your strongest troops and heroes. Catch him in a place, surround him and don't let him break through. The best is
to catch him near a city, so you can always place new troops and some cannonfodder to surround him.
That was it, Farrakh is now dead and we can all live in peace... until we see us again in Elven Legacy.
